“When i was 14 I lost my older sister who was 16. She was my greatest mentor and i wanted to be just like he in almost every way. Her passing was sudden and tragic as she was walking with a group of girlfriends and all 3 of them were mowed down by an impaired driver. It changed my life forever as I became the oldest in a family of all girls, and my mother completely fell apart in every single way. Life was forever changed in that moment, and I had to grow up fast. By the time I was 18 I had full custody of my younger sister. I am now 34, in the union and making a great income. I was the 1st in my family to buy a home, go to college and my 2 kids are serious athletes with my daughter playing high school volleyball and my son playing tackle football. I miss my sister a lot, and i wonder daily if I make her proud. Thank you Trent for letting me share, and being a LOVED Chiefs player!!” - Arlinda Hughes
